The Benefit of Being a Fallow Field
Old farmers knew that letting a plowed field sit unused was good for its productivity

I’m a farmer’s daughter. When you are a farmer’s child, you know that you cannot keep using fields or animals without letting them rest once in a while. We all need to regenerate and replenish our wells of energy and our means of sustenance.
I had been writing daily and feeling very pleased with my productivity. Melissa Chu wrote about finding our passion and it resonated with me. I have always felt proud of my ability to be a Jill of all trades and mistress of none. I won’t go into the details of the downside of this particular skill. It would be too much of a digression.
